KCO Reporter - August 2019
Realise your God-given potential by practicing these habits.
Don’t’ just be yourself. Be the best possible version of yourself. Achieve an internal balance that is contagious, a profound state of peace that allows you to use your abilities to the fullest. To bring out the best possible version of yourself, just put into practice these 12 habits.
Be authentic
When you are authentic, you are more comfortable, secure and respected. It may be beneficial to adapt to your environment, but changing your personality to fit every situation may impede your growth and maturity. So be authentic.
Lend a helping hand
When someone needs your help, be compassionate and give them a hand, whenever possible. If you cannot help them, connect them with someone who can. Daily life is full of opportunities to do this. If you do someone a favor, don’t hold it over their head, and don’t expect something in return. Just help others.
Earn your way
Work hard and win the respect of the people around you. Walk your path without stepping on anyone else. Adversity and sacrifice will hone your personality and will give you a feeling of achievement and self improvement.
Be active
Try to incorporate movement into your daily life: walk to work, take the stairs instead of the elevator, stand up from your seat every half hour, and make plans to do more physically demanding activities with your family or friends. This will strengthen your body and will make it possible for you to live more active.
Do everything with love
Love brings meaning to our actions. The love we put into our actions is what gives true meaning to what we do. If we do something with love, the smallest of our actions can become great. Love always bears fruit and strengthens us internally.
Be honest
Silence is good, but when it’s time to speak out, be honest. By being truthful, we defend what is right and reject what is wrong. Avoid getting involved with lies; one lie tends to lead to another and trap us in a web that it’s hard to escape.
Respect your beliefs
Be faithful to what you believe. . When you act in line with your beliefs, regardless of the outcome, you will feel proud of yourself for having been faithful.
Accept your defects
Everyone has defects, without exception. It’s always important to be humble so that we can recognize where we can change and how we can improve upon our weaknesses and defects.
Never humiliate others
Don’t hurt anyone. If someone does something shameful or embarrassing, resist the temptation to say something that could hurt them, no matter how smart or fair it might appear.
Meditate
Self introspection is a best medicine. Begin and end each day with a few minutes of introspection. Evaluate your words, deeds and thoughts before you go to bed.
Live your passions
Engage in activities that you love. Let your passion guides you. When you do something that you really love, you lose the sense of time. Your passion is one of the greatest sources of motivation and creativity.
Connect with the people you love
Invest in friendship. Spend quality time in quality relationships. Establishing strong interpersonal relationships is comforting, it opens our mind, and it increases our life expectancy.
