What Are the 4 Pillars of Lent?

Lent is a special time for Catholics, where we focus on growing spiritually. It's all about cleaning our hearts and getting closer to God. This tradition has been around for a long time, and it's filled with deep meaning.

Prayer During Lent, we try to pray more. It could be going to church more often, joining special prayers like the Stations of the Cross, or just spending quiet time with God. Prayer helps us feel connected and renewed.

Abstinence We give up eating meat on certain days like Ash Wednesday and Fridays during Lent. It's not just about food; it's a way to show our dedication to God and remember Jesus's sacrifices.

Fasting Fasting means not eating much or giving up something we like. It's not just about food; it's about saying no to things that distract us from God. It helps us focus on what really matters.

Almsgiving During Lent, we also focus on helping others. It could be giving money, time, or doing something nice for someone. It's about being kind and generous, just like Jesus taught us.

This Lent, let's remember these four pillars - prayer, abstinence, fasting, and almsgiving - as ways to grow closer to God and make a positive difference in the world.
